Group Feedback Sessions

 

This is a monthly, virtual workshop where songwriters can receive professional, constructive feedback on an original song from mentors Pam Sheyne and Richard Harris.

These sessions offer invaluable, detailed advice on how to improve your songwriting and listening skills, and is an opportunity to meet and hear music from other music creators around the world.

Through consistent attendance, participants will more fully appreciate the broad range of tools and techniques that can be applied to their own songwriting skillset.

Program Outline

 

Each attendee will upload an MP3 of an original song along with a lyric sheet. 

We recommend you send in a song that is a “work in progress” instead of a finished demo or master, as you may find opportunities to further strengthen your work.

Pam & Richard both offer their professional opinion and constructive feedback on how each song can be improved, to include in-depth comments regarding song concept, lyrics, melody, rhythm, production, and commercial viability. Participants have found these sessions to be invaluable, as the feedback is provided in a highly supportive and encouraging environment.

FAQs

May I bring a rough demo to be critiqued or should it be a finished master?

We prefer to give feedback on your rough or “work in progress” songs. This is the point in a song’s development that we can be most helpful – before you spend money on demoing or mastering.

At what level of experience are most participants in the Meet and Critiques?

All levels, from independent artists who are putting their music out, to beginner songwriters who want to know if they have a song idea with potential. This workshop is a great place to bring your music before you release it into the world, to get constructive and detailed feedback on how to craft, improve and tighten your song up.

What genres of music do your attendees write?

From Hip Hop, Pop, Rock, Folk, Country, Dance, EDM, Rap, Singer Songwriter, our attendees come from all corners of the world and write in different styles. Tried and tested techniques and the craft of songwriting can help improve a wide range of music genres.
