Each day begins with a master class conducted by either Pam or Richard. During these sessions, participants will learn the elements of successful hit songwriting, focusing on song concept, lyric, and melody. Following these classes, Pam and Richard will be interviewing two guest mentors, providing attendees an opportunity to ask questions about their careers.

FAQs

I’m a producer, should I bring my mobile rig?

Yes if it will help you with the process of writing songs and it’s what you usually work on, absolutely! If you are a guitarist or keyboard player, we would recommend you bring whatever tools you need to write with.

Because we are at a hotel, we wouldn’t recommend wind instruments as the rooms are closely situated. We can supply some battery operated, small keyboards and have one full size performance keyboard in our event room which is used for the evening shows.

What is the food like?

The food at The Ace is extremely good! We provide a catered dinner on the opening night of the camp and lunch for all three days. They cater for most diets, so be sure to let us know if you have any special food requirements. The price does not include breakfast on all three days or dinner on Wednesday and Thursday. There is a bar, pool bar and restaurant onsite should you need it and the hotel has extra room snacks and beverages which you will cover separately on your room bill.

Do I have to take part in the performance in the evenings?

You are not required to, but your co-writing group will be very grateful for your support. Not everyone is a performer, this is a very casual setting and we encourage and challenge everyone to step up out of their comfort zone so they will grow from this experience. You really see the growth over this camp and this is where some life-long relationships and collaborations are started.
